Yes. The Internet is a great tool for demonstrating our work. However, only 10% of our designs ever make it on-line. We suggest stopping by the store to see the 20-30 displays in our store of modern and trendy designs.
Yes. We have seven full-time cake artists with diverse skill sets who can create or replicate just about any wedding cake design your heart desires.
Most of our wedding cakes are priced by combining the size of the tiers and the time it takes us to bake, frost, and decorate your wedding cake. This is called a “time and material” method.
Typically, as the wedding cake gets larger, the price goes lower on a cost per serving basis. This is a topic that is easier to understand if you come into the store and receive first-hand clarification by Naomi or download a FREE copy of “The Ultimate Bride’s Guide For Buying A Wedding Cake” and go to page 43: Question 2-6.
Since we charge according to a time and material methodology, every serving size changes the price of a particular cake.
In addition, there are variables that could change the price. Such as changing a cake from all round to all square, changing the flavors of the cake, changing the amount of tiers, changing the frosting type on the cake, removing certain design elements etc.

Yes. You are welcome to receive the first four flavors for free.
Choose any flavor(s) of cake; then, if would like, choose any filling(s). The normal frosting for sample cakes is buttercream. (If you would like to sample fondant, please ask.)
If you would like more than three flavors, we charge a nominal fee of $2.99 per 4” cake or $7.99 for fondant covered samples. There is no limit to the amount of sample cakes you can order at one time.
Here’s a simple formula that helps determine the probable number of guests who will be having a slice of your wedding cake.
For a full dinner or buffet: Multiply your invitations by 2 and reduce that number by 25%
In an example: You send out 100 invitations, multiple that by 2, which equals 200 and subtract 25% of 200, which leaves you with 150 pieces of cake.
If you are serving only cake and punch, order cake for the entire guest list.
If you are having different flavors of cake for each tier, order enough for the entire guest list, plus consider adding up to an additional 10%. Due to added flavors, some guests are more likely to have two pieces.
The short answer is no. The bride’s cake is your main dessert. The groom’s cake should be viewed as supplemental. Once again, there are always exceptions. Just keep in mind, most guests view taking a piece of the bride’s cake and a piece of groom’s cake as acceptable and expected.
Please review this answer within the “Ordering Info Page,” topic 3. They are updated twice per year in the winter and summer.

The Cake Gallery is dedicated to making a wide variety of wedding cake flavors that satisfy the desires of most brides.
Brides, like you, have told us they want a broad selection of flavors and fillings. So, we constructed our bakery to accommodate the refrigeration and storage space that allows us to mix and inventory such a vast selection.
Our smallest wedding cake is two-tiered and serves 20. On the other hand, if you need your wedding cake to serve 500, 1000 or 5000 we can accommodate your needs as well. Give us a call or come in to discuss your individual requirements.
Our smallest two-tier wedding (serves 20) starts at $129.99.
Of course. We expect you’ll exchange the colors you see in the photos or on a display to the colors of your wedding. There are always exceptions to the rule, but 95% of the time colors can be adjusted.
Most of the time, you can change design elements on a wedding cake and still have it look perfect.
If we believe your requested change will reflect poorly on the overall appearance of your wedding cake, we will help steer you in the right direction.
Just remember, wedding cakes are a piece of art and we all have different opinions. We are not here to impose our artistic impression on you. We are here to help guide you.
About 25% of the time, your florist will place the flowers on your wedding cake at the reception site.
Typically, we deliver the wedding cake before your florist arrives. Then, they decorate the cake and table, if necessary.
75% of the time, we advise for you to bring the flowers directly to us. That way we are both confident they are arranged correctly. If the flowers cannot be brought to our bakery, we’ll suggest the florist arrange them on the cake at the reception site.
There are two reasons: First the price of fondant is 2 to 3 times the cost of making buttercream.
Second, it takes extra training and skill to work with fondant. In addition, designs created in fondant take longer to complete. When you combine the extra cost of fondant and the extra time to execute your design using fondant, it will reflect in a higher overall price (typically 25% to 200%).
Yes. Although, by using Google or Pinterest, you’ll find a much larger diversity of toppers. We suggest buying one on-line.
Note: Purchase it at least 60 days in advance. We’ve had plenty of experience with toppers being delivered cracked or broken. Give yourself plenty of time for a replacement.
The short answer is anywhere your heart desires. The majority of our wedding cakes are delivered within 100-mile radius of Omaha.
Cities like Lincoln, Nebraska City, Fremont, and Blair are regular destinations in Nebraska.
In Iowa, Glenwood, Missouri Valley and Atlantic top our list.
In addition, we often deliver to Kearney, Des Moines, Kansas City, and Sioux City.
Outside the normal delivery areas we have delivered to New York, California, Florida, Colorado, and the country of England.
Remember, it’s never too early to reserve your date, but it could be too late!
On average, we only accept 18 orders per weekend. We have instituted this rule to control the quality of our wedding cakes.
Since we cannot project when a particular weekend will be completely sold-out, we suggest reserving your date as soon as you have made a decision to use The Cake Gallery.
Under normal conditions, you can reserve most dates with a 2-6 month notice. Although, we suggest 4-12 months to be safe.
Instead of the industry norm of 50%, we ask for a ninety-five-dollar ($95) retainer. The funds are applied to your balance and are non-refundable.
In most cases, final adjustments and a final payment is required thirty (30) days prior to your reception. Naomi, your consultant, will let you know the requirements of your particular wedding cake.
At this time, we are hesitant to recommend anyone else.
Here’s why. We are not aware of any other bakery south of us to Kansas City, west to Denver, east to Des Moines or north to Minneapolis who is a “Gold Standard Wedding Cake Baker.”
As soon as other wedding cake providers in the Omaha or surrounding areas are willing and able to comply with the same stringent standards, we will be happy to pass along their names. To discover the standards and business practices;
